Beaumont City Fire Explorer Post
Do you have a son or daughter that has an interest in the fire service? If so, Beaumont City, Station 66, has a Fire Explorer Program that helps gear young adults towards a career in the fire service.

The Beaumont City Fire Explorer Post is designed to teach young adults different skills that are essential to the fire service, as well as their everyday life. Fire Explorers learn teamwork, camaraderie, responsibility, and goal setting through classroom and hands-on training that is presented by experienced firefighting staff and other professionals throughout the community. Some of the topics covered are:
  • Fire chemistry
  • Types of hose and hose loads
  • Ladders
  • Wildland and structure firefighting
  • Fire apparatus
  • Medical aids

In addition to learning about the fire service, the Fire Explorers also engage in other activities, such as field trips and fire musters.

Once an Explorer has completed all of the required trainings and reaches a Level III status he or she is authorized to respond on the Fire Engine to real-life emergency calls in non-life threatening situations.

Fire Explorers must:
  • Be at least 14 years of age and have completed the 8th grade
  • Have a minimum grade point average of a 2.0

All interested candidates who meet the minimum requirements should visit the Beaumont City Fire Station #66 and fill out an interest card or call 951-845-3718 for more information.

Fire Explorers meet every Friday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
