Generally, any person who comes within the provisions of the 830 through 830.65 of the California Penal Code and who otherwise meets the requirements of Section 1031 of the Government Code, the selection and training standards of the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) and all standards imposed by law on a peace officer is a peace officer and shall have their name placed in the Public Safety Memorial.

Line of Service

  • If they resided in the Beaumont / Cherry Valley area at the time of their death
  • If they resided outside of the Beaumont / Cherry Valley area, but was a major contributor of time and service to the communities of Beaumont and Cherry Valley

Line of Duty
  • Their death was a result of public safety activities in the Beaumont / Cherry Valley area
  • Their death resulted from the preservation of life and property Beaumont / Cherry Valley area
  • If they resided in the Beaumont / Cherry Valley area at the time of their death while on duty

Fire
Any firefighter, volunteer firefighter, or EMS person who was a member of a regularly organized fire department of a city, county, district, or federal agency shall have their name placed in the Public Safety Memorial.

Line of Service
  • If they resided in the Beaumont / Cherry Valley area at the time of their death
  • If they resided outside of the Beaumont / Cherry Valley area, but was a major contributor of time and service to the communities of Beaumont and Cherry Valley

Line of Duty
  • Their death was a result of fire suppression activities in the Beaumont / Cherry Valley area
  • Their death was a result of engaging in rescue operations Beaumont / Cherry Valley area
  • Their death resulted from the preservation of life and property Beaumont / Cherry Valley area
  • If they resided in the Beaumont / Cherry Valley area at the time of their death while on duty

Application Information
Beginning in 2016, there will be a $50 engraving fee per name. Applications will not be accepted without payment and proof of death. The Beaumont Public Safety Memorial Committee will review all applications and determine whether the applicant meets the criteria for admission onto the Memorial wall. If an application is denied, the engraving fee will be refunded in full.
