City Manager

Responsibilities
The city manager is the operations officer for the city and is charged with the responsibility of implementing the goals and objectives set by the City Council.

Some typical roles and responsibilities of a city manager include supervising day-to-day operations of all city departments, supervising the department heads, and advising the City Council on matters of interest.

Biography
Mr. Parton comes to Beaumont from Kerrville, Texas. He has been a City Manager, City Administrator, Planning Director and consultant with local governments for over 26 years. Mr. Parton is married and has two grade school children. He has a Masters Degree in Public Administration and Bachelor of Science Degree in Emergency Administration and Planning, both from the University of North Texas.
