The City of Beaumont is governed by a five-member City Council
, each member is elected "at large" by the general public to four year terms. The City Council elects a Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem from amongst themselves every year. The City of Beaumont also elects a City Clerk and City Treasurer. The City's municipal elections are held on the first Tuesday in November in even-numbered years.
Qualifications to Run For City Office
To run for City Office, you must be:
- A citizen of the United States
- 18 years of age or older
- A resident and registered voter in the City of Beaumont at the time nomination papers are issued
