The Riverside County Registrar of Voters has released the following statement:
"Approximately 182,000 Vote-by-Mail 67,000 Provisional and 12,500 damaged ballots that require duplication still must be processed. Work on those begins Wednesday morning. Ballots that are postmarked on or before Election Day and received no later than next Monday also remain to be counted. The next updated results will be posted at 6:00pm on Friday"

Two (2) City Council seats will be open. The incumbents for those seats are Brenda Knight and Della Condon.

December 2016 - November 2020

Qualifications to Run for City Office 
To run for city office, you must be:
  • A citizen of the United States
  • 18 years of age or older
  • A resident and registered voter in the City of Beaumont at the time nomination papers are issued

Nominations

The period for filing of Nomination Papers is July 18, 2016 to August 12, 2016.  (If an incumbent does not file Nomination Papers by 12:00 p.m. (noon) on August 12, 2016, the nomination period for that office shall be extended to August 17, 2016, during which time any eligible person other than the incumbent, may take out, circulate and file Nomination Papers for that office. 

Each candidate shall be proposed by not less than twenty (20), nor more than thirty (30) registered voters within the City of Beaumont.  Any person registered to vote at the City election may circulate a nomination paper.  Each person nominating a candidate must sign and print their name and shall add his/her place of residence, giving the street and number.  The candidate and circulator shall also sign the paper.

Candidate Information
Statement of Qualifications Fee
$450 (this is a deposit. The full cost of the Candidate Statement is set by the County Registrar. Over payment of this fee will be refunded and shortages will be billed to you directly.)

Ballot Order of Candidates
The Secretary of State's Office will select a random alphabet on August 18th, 201, at which time the County Registrar will determine the order of the placement on the ballot and provide a copy to each candidate.

Swearing in of Elected Officials
The Elected Candidates will be sworn in and assume office on Tuesday, December 20, 2016.
