Elected Officers
The City of Beaumont is governed by a five-member City Council, each member is elected "at large" by the general public to four year terms. The City Council elects a Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem from amongst themselves every year. The City of Beaumont also elects a City Clerk and City Treasurer. The City's municipal elections are held on the first Tuesday in November in even-numbered years.

Qualifications to Run For City Office 

To run for City Office, you must be:

  • A citizen of the United States
  • 18 years of age or older
  • A resident and registered voter in the City of Beaumont at the time nomination papers are issued

Voter Registration Information
Residents can pick up voter registration forms at the Beaumont Civic Center located at 550 E. 6th Street.
