Crime and intelligence analysis is the systematic process of collecting, categorizing, analyzing and disseminating intelligence information to identify crime patterns, crime trends and potential suspects. Crime analysis is intended to provide current and useful information to assist operational personnel in meeting their tactical crime control and prevention objectives to suppress criminal activity. Crime analysis also assists command and administrative personnel in planning and strategic decision-making.
