How long can I park my car on the street?
Vehicles may park on City streets, in the same location, for a period not to exceed 72 hours.

Do I need a permit for a yard sale?
Yes. Residents are allowed one yard sale every six months. Sales can be conducted for up to five consecutive days. You must come into City Hall to fill out a yard sale permit. The cost is $5.00. Contact the City of Beaumont at 951.769.8520.

City of Beaumont will remove your junk/inoperable vehicle for free. No registration required. Call Code Compliance at 951.572.3234.

Can I park my vehicle on my front yard?
No. Vehicles may not park in front yard or side yard open space areas.

How long can my RV, and/or trailer parked on the street?
Motor homes, recreational and utility trailers that are attached to a tow vehicle may be parked on a street or alley for a period not to exceed 72 hours. Recreational and utility trailers that are not attached to a tow vehicle may be temporarily parked for a period not to exceed two (2) hours.

Who maintains the right-of-way including the trees?
Homeowners/Tenants are responsible for the maintenance of the landscaping from the property line to the curb. This includes trimming, cutting back, removal and replacement of trees. Call the Planning Dept. for more information at 951.769.8518.

Can I have a canopy in the front of my house?
Yes, but only if it is behind the setbacks. Call the Planning department for information on your setbacks 951.769.8518

How can I advertise for my yard sale?
A maximum of three (3) signs are permitted; signs shall be limited to a maximum size of three (3) square feet; signs shall only be placed on private property, and not in the public right-of-way or on utility poles; and signs shall only be erected on the day of the event as permitted and shall be removed at sunset each day.

What are the restrictions for posting signs, banners and flags?
All signage, including special event and wall signage, shall be approved prior to being erected on premises. You must get an approved sign permit from the Planning Department before any signs, banners, or flags are put up at 951.769.8518.

How many animals can I have at my home?
In Residential- Single Family zones, there is a limit of three (3) adult dogs and three (3) adult cats over 12 months of age, for each developed residential lot.

Who do I call for animal control issues?
The City of Beaumont has its own Animal Care Department. For questions or to report an animal care issue, please call Beaumont Police Dispatch at 951.769.8500.

Who do I report West-Nile Virus concerns to?

Can I put my trashcans out the night before trash day and how long can they stay on the curbside?
Yes. Trashcans should be out on the curbside by 6:00 am on service day. Trashcans should be brought in from the curbside the same day or next morning after service day.

Who do I call when I have bulky items to dispose of?
Waste Management gives Beaumont residents an opportunity to dispose of bulky items free of charge twice a year. To schedule an appointment call Waste Management at 800.423.9986.

What are the construction noise work hours?
Construction noise work is allowed from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm in residential zones.

Can I drain my swimming pool water into the gutter?
Only clean and clear water may drain into the gutter. Do not add any chemicals to the water for three days before you plan to drain the pool, allowing the chemicals in the water to dissipate.

Can I put a portable basketball hoop at the end of my cul-de-sac?
No. Portable basketball hoops are not allowed on public right-of-way including, but not limited to, streets, alleys and sidewalks, whether temporarily or otherwise.

Do I need a permit for an alarm on my home or business?
Yes you do need a permit. An application is available in the 'Document Center' under 'Buidling & Safety', and is titled Alarm Permit Application. Or you may contact the Building & Safety Department at 951.759.8529. There is no fee for the permit.

Can I build a Carport in front of my house?
Carports may require a permit. Contact Building & Safety Department for more information 951.769.8529
